Welcome to the
North Baddesley Village Website - 2

CSS

This site has been built using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) CSS 2.1 and has been validated by W3C. If you experience problems viewing it via a PC we would suggest that you upload the browser FIREFOX (which is FREE) http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/firefox/all.html as there are some issues with IE 6 and IE 7. If using a Mac, the browsers SAFARI, FIREFOX or OPERA all seem to work okay.

Valid CSS!

XHTML

The XHTML 1.0 used to build each page on this site has also been validated by W3C and their logo has been added to each page.

NAVIGATION

To assist your viewing pleasure, all of our pages have a similar look, with the navigation being consistent on every page. This will enable you to reach any section at any time without having to use the back arrow.
In the Menu on the left you can link via each Topic to each of the main sections of this site, along with a link to the Site Index.

Four of the topics, for instance History have a Sub Menu which is indicated by an arrowhead. By hovering the cursor over the arrowhead a list will appear enabling you to see all the sections under that particular topic. By clicking on each of the individual titles in the list you can access any of these pages.

You will also notice that on the bottom of some pages on the first column of text you can click to connect to additional pages. When you do link to other pages each first column heading will have a number after it so you always know what page you are on.

THE SITE

This site was designed by a local Graphic Designer incognito and the planning and content including non historical photographs by myself. The site was built by myself with a great deal of technical assistance and ideas from the above Designer.

Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict

Special thanks also to Ken Stewart for his encouragement and initial guidance in building the site and Paul Collings for his technical assistance and help with the uploading of the site and the Forum.
Without assistance from the above people this site would not have been built.

North Baddesley Archive

All the historical content on this site has been supplied by Una Lonergan and Beryl Green from their own North Baddesley Archive. Hence all historical information and historical photographic images reproduced on this site belong to the North Baddesley Archive. Whilst you are welcome to use any of the photographs or written material for personal use, please obtain prior written permission for any commercial use. The site's "Archive" contains a large number of pages of resources and articles, a massive amount of material that will assist local and family history researchers, local historians and anyone keen on taking a peek into the past of our village. Be aware that the photographs are only low resolution images. If you require high resolution copies these can be obtained from Una Lonergan. Details are available in the History section.
