There are many recreational activities within the village but we could always do with more because people now find that they have increased amounts of leisure time available to them.
In the evenings and at weekends after the mundane tasks of looking after a home for instance have been completed people have the freedom to choose what they would like to do. There are literally hundreds of things to do with your leisure time. If at home you may enjoy watching television, reading a book, listening to music etc. Venture out and you can enjoy a recreational pastime that enables you to meet others with similar interests and to get involved in an activity that is good for both the body and the soul and enables one to gain personal satisfaction.
If you like outdoor activities we are fortunate to have a large recreation ground on the corner of Botley Road and Castle Lane that has a football pitch, cricket pitch, basketball nets and tennis courts. The pavilion that is located there is soon to be replaced with a new building that promises improved facilities.
Other outdoor activities include walking and there is an organised weekly village health walk. You can also explore Baddesley Common although access is limited.
